Download np (Shell Script) Download smpost (Python Script) Download config.json (Configuration file)

Dependencies

Required Packages:

  • zenity
  • xclip
  • curl
  • jq
  • yt-dlp
  • mastodon
  • ATProto

Installation Commands:

# For Ubuntu/Debian:
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install python3 zenity xclip curl jq

# Python libraries 
pip3 install yt-dlp mastodon atproto

Setup Instructions

  1. Download both scripts and the config file
  2. Make scripts executable: chmod +x np smpost
  3. Edit the config file and save it in ~/.local/share/NowPlaying/
  4. Bind "np" to a keystoke
